Phd Economics Teaching Fellowship in Quantitative Geography and GIS/Remote Sensing


Phd Economics Department of Geography seeks to appoint Teaching Fellow in Quantitative Geography for two years from 1 September 2011. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching quantitative methods in a variety of undergraduate modules (Hons) Geography BA and BSc programs. The successful candidate will have recently completed (or nearly completed) a PhD in a relevant field, and showed a talent for excellence in research-led teaching, assessment and course development.The candidate will provide excellent teaching in the Department of Geography of success, especially ( but not limited to) the following: a quantitative method · Teaching in undergraduate research skills module at Level 1 (taught to BA and BSc Geography students) and Level 2 (BA Geography only) · plays an important role in future development of this module. Contribute modules / GIS Remote Sensing at Level 2 · assessment tasks related · Acting as an academic advisor (Levels 1 and 2), the research methods tutor (Level 2) and the dissertation supervisor (Level 3) S / he may be asked to contribute to additional modules , depending on area of ​​expertise. Phd Economics successful candidate will have the opportunity to take the Durham Certificate in Teaching & Learning Achievement or a Certificate of appointment Pg module for two years. Teaching in the Department was informed by staff research interests and teaching fellow will be encouraged to design and deliver the material on this basis. The Phd Economics successful candidate will not be required to conduct original research as part of their departmental duties, but they will be expected to engage in scholarship in Geography and took part in the cultural studies department.
